Battery Box and Multi-Material Laminates

Page5(0001).png
  1. Overview
3P.COM designs multi-material laminate (MML) structures for battery enclosures and protective housings in EVs, UAM/eVTOL, and robotics. The laminates deliver fire retardancy, impact resistance, low mass, and short-cycle manufacturability.

  1. Design & Architecture
  1. Skin–core–skin sandwich or metal–composite hybrid panels
  2. Localized reinforcements & inserts (mounts, brackets, ribs)
  3. Damping / energy-absorption layers for shock and vibration control
  4. Optional: EMI shielding, thermal barrier/spreader sheets, sealing for IP targets

  1. Manufacturing
  1. Automated Tape Laying, vacuum/hot-press bonding
  2. Optimized for short-cycle, high-throughput production with lower tooling & equipment CAPEX
  3. Thermoplastic or thermoset composite options, tuned to program targets

  1. Testing & Compliance
  1. Flammability / fire exposure and thermal-event (thermal-runaway) assessments
  2. Impact / drop / shock & vibration performance

  1. Simulation & Engineering
  1. Structural: impact, drop, local buckling; rib/insert optimization
  2. NVH: modal and damping behavior
  3. Thermal: containment and mitigation of thermal events; heat barrier/spread design

  1. Applications
  1. Battery boxes / pack enclosures (EV, UAM/eVTOL)
  2. UAM airframe panels and payload-deck modules
  3. Humanoid/robotics exterior shells and protective housings

  1. Why 3P.COM
  1. Integrated design → manufacturing → validation workflow
  2. Short-cycle production with rapid prototyping and fast industrialization
  3. Material/stack/process co-optimization to meet cost, weight, and performance goals

Result: MML battery enclosures are lightweight, fire-retardant, and impact-resistant, delivering lower total cost and faster time-to-production for next-generation mobility and robotics.
